This is one of those items we were glad to find. We asked an older gentleman who has a good eye for such things (The Old Man featured on Pawn Stars!) and he told us that his teapot was made in the 1920's to 1930's and its called Blue Ware and it was made in China. And he knew it came with a strainer despite the fact that we left it at home. It's cobalt blue and white spatter pattern. It's ceramic and glazed outside and inside. It has some sort of circle of information on the bottom but I cannot make out the lettering. It has age cracks on the bottom and a wear ring. The strainer is terra cotta and not glazed and in great shape. The set weighs in at 3 pounds. From the bottom, it measures approximately 6 inches in diameter.
