From Cinema Blend.com:
If the image has you scratching your head at first glance, it's a stylized representation of one the franchise's most famous visuals, the slow burning fuse, forming the outline of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. That fuse dates all the way back to the original series that ran from 1966 to 1973, and has returned in all incarnations since, from the 1988 reboot series to the modern big screen Tom Cruise outings. Given the tendency for movie posters to go the generic floating heads route, it's nice to see something that keeps it simple and plays with the franchise's iconography.
I couldn't agree more! Presented here is the red background AND the black background versions for the IMAX screening of Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. The black one was released for the 12/16/11 early screening and the red one came out 12/21/11 for wide release. These posters measure 17 3/4 inches by 23 3/4 inches. They are brand new and have never been hung. Hard to find too, so don't hesitate to scoop up a set! The pair will come to you rolled in a tube.
